David Sanborn sold his West-side brown-stone (No, not to Taylor Swift) for $11 million dollars, where he and his wife have lived since 1989. The place was built in 1900 and was originally a 5-unit building that David converted to a single-residence dwelling. A year after purchasing the property, the area had achieved Landmark status. The house is 19 feet wide with 5 bedrooms, no fewer than 4 wood-burning fireplaces, a fenced private garden, a library, and a master bedroom which adjoins an outdoor terrace.
The top floor, of course, is where the 20-by-55-foot music studio with leaded soundproof sheetrock and oversized skylights, is located. Six albums were recorded in this space.
