So instruments are tuned and the band is psyched and ready to play. It is helpful to have a pretty good idea what sort of sound you are going for before the project begins.  This is usually done by talking to the musicians and offering up options based upon your experience and the capabilities and limitations of the studio.  The genre of the music you are working with may prove to be a useful guide, as far as hardware choices and technical things such as mic placement go, but it is generally accepted that no choices in and of it self are necessarily wrong choices.    (Click here to read more)
