A while back I published an article about Musical Improvisation that some of you may have seen. I am republishing it for those of you who may have missed it and for the newcomers to the blog.
Improvisation in the musical sense pertains to being fluent in expressing emotions musically as defined by the moment and usually among other musicians. There seems to be a fledgling belief, mainly among younger musicians that Musical Improvisation has something to do with 3 or 4 guys playing what they know well while another experiments from within. This is in direct contrast to what musical improvisation really is.
